House located at a height of 1090m above sea level and surrounded by forest in the Parc Natural dels Ports. The refuge, built in 1968 on the basis of an old country house, has a controlled camping area and a play area on the terraces of the old farming areas. The Caro Shelter is owned by the Unió Excursionista de Catalunya (UEC) and is managed by the guard Josep.

A la planta baixa s’hi troba una gran sala com a menjador, el bar, la cuina i dos lavabos i una dutxa per tal de gaudir de totes les comoditats. Disposa de calefacció de pellets al menjador amb radiadors per les habitacions a més d’escalfapanxes de llenya també al menjador. A la primera planta les habitacions, amb un total de 34 places distribuïdes amb cinc dormitoris amb lliteres, i dos lavabos amb 3 dutxes. Els dormitoris de  8, 8, 12 i 12 places totalment independents.

In an external annex building is the free shelter (open when we are not there) and the camping area.
